How we work and why we’re different
Zigzag Health Consulting is a small, independent consultancy specialising in regulatory, quality, and supply chain advisory for organisations working in global health. Our work focuses on improving access to quality medicines and health products across various global context, often in resource-constrained environments with varying degrees of regulatory stringency.
Unlike many UK-based consultancies whose work is primarily domestic or commercially focused, Zigzag Health brings deep experience from working with global health systems, donor-funded programmes, and international supply chains. We work at the intersection of regulation, operations, and public health, helping organisations strengthen systems designed to protect quality while remaining workable in real-world settings.
Zigzag Health operates with a small core team and draws on a trusted network of associates where additional technical or contextual expertise is needed.
Our expertise
Zigzag’s work is grounded in over a decade of hands-on experience across medicines quality assurance, regulatory compliance, and international supply chains. This includes responsibility for regulated distribution activities, engagement with national regulators, and advisory roles supporting global health organisations operating across multiple jurisdictions.
Core areas of expertise include Good Distribution Practice (GDP) and compliance with pharmaceutical wholesaling laws across a number of international contexts; medicines quality and pharmacovigilance; procurement and supply chain risk management; and the design and delivery of training and capacity-building initiatives for both technical and non-technical audiences.
Our approach is pragmatic and proportionate, translating complex regulatory requirements into systems that teams can understand, implement, and sustain.
Our clients
Zigzag works primarily with:
International non-governmental organisations
Multilateral and intergovernmental agencies

Donor-funded programmes operating across multiple countries
Engagements often involve complex operating environments, evolving regulatory landscapes, and the need to balance compliance, access, and operational realities.
Our services
Zigzag offers a range of advisory services tailored to the needs and operating context of each organisation. Engagements are typically focused on strengthening regulatory, quality, and supply chain systems, and are designed to be proportionate, practical, and aligned with real-world constraints. The services below illustrate the types of support most commonly provided.

Advising on medicines quality assurance, pharmacovigilance, and sourcing, including mitigation of risks related to substandard and falsified products
Supporting procurement and supply chain teams to strengthen policies, governance frameworks, and risk-based decision-making
Conducting quality assurance and due diligence reviews for clinical and training programmes
Designing and delivering tailored training on GDP, medicines quality, and regulatory systems for global and country-level teams
Our fees
Zigzag undertakes clearly defined advisory engagements, ranging from short-term technical support to longer-term strategic or governance roles. Fees are set transparently and proportionately, reflecting the scope, duration, and complexity of the work.
Most engagements are structured on a daily or project basis, with flexibility to accommodate the needs and constraints of non-profit and global health organisations. An initial discussion is always used to clarify scope, expectations, and the most appropriate form of support.
